TshiVenda Theme Cultural Room Divider Inspired by African TshiVenda Culture
This project is aimed to develope an innovative room divider, influenced by digital fabrication and effectively incorporating structural elements and optimised material use. My design was heavily influenced by the shapes an colours within the TshiVenda culture, specifically the shapes used on their everyday products and the brown colours contrasting against each other in diffrent tones. Through my design process I will illustrate how I developed this into a final manufacturable and effective room divider.
RESEARCH AND PRECEDENTS
Together with 3 other designers I found all types of structures and how effective they are for their respective contexts. This was done through Intensive research.
SKETCHES AND MOCKUPS
Once I've established the types of structures, I could use that aquired knoeledge to prepare concepts and mockups to aid my ideation. these mockups showed me how effective the concept would be in terms of function.
